The Wang Daheng Memorial Park is located in Changchun Jingyuetan National Forest Park, covering an area of 8000 square meters. The park is divided into two landscape levels, with a 3.6-meter-high bronze statue of Wang Daheng standing in the core area, backed by the Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics remote sensing station it created, overlooking the water surface of Jingyuetan from west to east; The ecological leisure area preserves the original pine forest vegetation and sets up a circular viewing stone walkway. The overall landscape design integrates Wang Daheng's scientific research achievements with the natural environment.
In July 2011,Mr.Daheng passed away peacefully in Beijing at the age of 96.According to his wish,a portion of his ashes were left in the land he had fought for and loved deeply. The Wang Daheng Memorial Park was initiated and supported by the Changchun Municipal Party Committee and Government, and was organized and constructed by the Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics. On September 11,2012,the opening ceremony of the memorial park and the unveiling ceremony of the bronze statue were held in the park. The construction of Wang Daheng Memorial Park is not only to express the nostalgia and respect for Mr.Daheng,to commemorate his important contributions to the development and progress of Changchun, but also to thank Mr.Daheng as the founder and first director of Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics for laying a solid foundation for the development of Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics. At the same time,Mr.Daheng's profound knowledge, profound thinking, outstanding insights, broad mindedness, pragmatic spirit, elegant and humble style, rigorous and pragmatic scientific spirit, and far sighted strategic thinking deeply influence every Changguang person.
